Oakland Historic District

The Oakland District is generally bounded by Grand Avenue, 19th Avenue, Van Buren Street and the alley north of Fillmore Street.  Period of Significance: 1887-1951.  Most of the houses in Oakland are more modest, and primarily bungalow-style houses.  The Oakland District became a City of Phoenix Historic Preservation District designated as historic in September of 1988.  The boundaries of Oakland were later expanded.
